Long Sutton Golf Course is a privately owned course set in 118 acres of ideal golfing country in the heart of Somerset. The gently rolling landscape, with wonderful views across the Kingsmoor Levels, has immense appeal to the seasoned golfer and novice alike. The long, undulating fairways and the beautifully maintained greens of this parkland course provide the greatest pleasure to golfers of all standards. The setting and conditions tend to belie the challenge presented by some tricky par 3’s and four demanding par 5’s. Long irons are always put to the test and scoring well can prove a little difficult.

All this has been carefully integrated around a striking club house which is open to the public 7 days a week and features a Professionals Shop, Main Bar, Restaurant, Private Function Rooms, Conference Rooms, a 12 Bay Driving Range, Practice Putting Green, a Chipping Area and an ample floodlit parking area.
For occasions such as wedding receptions there is a Function Room capable of accommodating over 150 people.

The 18 hole course was designed by Patrick Dawson and extends to 6329 yards (par 71) and was commissioned to be built by George Bennett. Many of the staff are members of the local community and the present owners under Managing Director Mike Davey, have continued this on. The club boasts one of the youngest Head Greenkeepers in 22 year old Peter Tulk who has been an ever present at the club since its inception. The club actively promotes Youth golf and this year (2005) has seen 5 boys and 1 girl from the club, chosen to participate in County events.

The club also has a long tradition of raising money for St.Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and has donated over £175,000 from its Charity Golf Day to this deserving cause.
