After gaining planning consent, only after appeal, work started on construction of the original nine-hole course in July 1990. The course then opened in May 1991 when it was affiliated to the SGU.
In 1994, three new holes (now hole numbers 16, 17 and 18) replaced three short holes to increase both the par and length of the course. Also in 1994 the Club House was opened.
Planning for the new nine holes was underway soon after and construction started in April 1996. The full 18-hole course opened in May 1998. The course measures 6031 yards, par 71 and S.S.S. 69.
Since then further developments have been made to the course. Also the Club House has been extended to include shower and changing facilities and a new separate dining area.
Further course improvements are planned for the future. These include upgrading the greens and surroundings of the original holes, introducing more teeing areas and a substantial tree-planting programme.
