Burnham & Berrow
The golf course and pavilion were formally opened on 4th June 1891 with a medal competition followed by a match between J H Taylor, a 19 year old greenkeeper who went on to win 3 Open Championships,
and Horace Hutchinson from Royal North Devon, amateur champion in 1886/87.

Weston-super-Mare
At a public meeting held at the Grand Atlantic Hotel on 4 July 1892,
Sir Richard Paget (Member of Parliament for the Wells Division)
reported that “he had no doubt that a Golf Club would be of
general advantage to Weston”. On August 15th 1892 the golf course,
constructrd by Tom Dunne for £6, was opened.

Taunton & Pickeridge
The origins of the Club date back to 1892 when a group including Frank Newton, the first President of the Club, decided to establish a Golf Club at Pickeridge Hill. It was toward the middle of the 20th century that the Club renamed itself the Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

Minehead & West Somerset
Since his arrival in the West Country in 1882 Dr.Clark, a Scotsman and medical
practitioner working at Dunster hospital, had been on the
lookout for suitable ground for a golf course.
At a meeting on the 4th April 1882 in the old ‘Plume of Feathers’ hotel the Minehead
Golf Club was formed.

Saltford
Thus Saltford Golf Club became established in 1904 with a nine hole golf course and by 1906 this had extended to eighteen holes.
For the first five years the Club leased the land from a local farmer and from
1909 to 1941 from Earl Temple. In 1940 the estate was sold to the Duchy of Cornwall
from whom the Club continues to lease the land.

Bath
On the 28th February, 1880, the first general meeting was held in the
Swan Inn to form a golf club to play on Kingsdown common. The Club
changed its name to the Bath and Kingsdown Golf Club and moved to
Hampton Down, its present home, in 1892. Ten years later Tom Dunn was called in to construct a course of eighteen holes.
