County Card Scheme 2008

The majority of Golf Unions throughout the United Kingdom make available to their members a form of 'discount' card known as the County Card.

The Card entitles the holder to varying discounts at specific named clubs who are willing to offer reduced playing fees on application. The amounts of 'discounts' offered vary between clubs but in general will be a 50% reduction on the daily rate, but for one round of golf only.

The Somerset Golf Union have entered into agreements with 19 counties in the South and Midlands for this year's County Card. These agreements allow our members access to golfing facilities at over 600 clubs on the same basis as they have enjoyed with Somerset Clubs for many years.

County Cards are valid during the year of purchase only and are not transferable.

Players must contact in advance any club which they intend to visit and must state that they are using their County Card at the time such contact is made. Some clubs place restrictions on the times that County Cards may be used both in terms of days of the week and times that play is permitted and this is acknowledged by the County Unions as within the scheme and reasonable.

Players are only entitled to one visit per club under the terms of the scheme and host clubs will usually delete their name on the card when the facility is made available. It should be understood that Clubs may well decline to accept County cards at busy periods or when their course is either being prepared for or in use by another function. Members are asked to appreciate that this is a considerable concession accorded to them and of course, that they must respect the Rules of the club they are visiting.

Remember, YOU MUST PHONE PRIOR to your visit or you may well be denied the use of the card!

This card duly signed entitles the holder to one visit to play golf on each of the courses shown overleaf, subject to any local restriction, and at the discretion of the host club.

The holder shall pay up to 50% of the day rate green fee of the club visited, with no reduction if only one round of golf is permitted/played.

This card is valid until 28th.February 2009
and IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.
