GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  

The following General Terms & Conditions apply to all competitions.

  • The current general conditions (Rule 20) relating to Somerset Golf Union Championships and tournaments will apply to all competitions. Copies of these rules are also available at affiliated clubs.
  • Competitors must be of Amateur status as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
  • Competitors must be a member of a golf club affiliated to the Somerset Golf Union, or must have been born in the County and be a member of an affiliated club in another County.
  • Home Club handicap certificates dated within two weeks of the competition will be required for all Competitions. (Players with inactive handicaps are eligible to play in Somerset Golf Union scratch competitions but are prohibited from winning any nett prizes).
  • A player shall walk at all times during a stipulated round. Buggies are not permitted unless a player is disabled as defined by the Disability Discrimination Law.
  • For Juniors/Colts events: Caddies are not permitted
  • Details of Entry Fees and Closing Dates for entries can be seen on the Standard Entry Form. Entry Forms must be received by the Competition & Fixtures Administrator on or before the Closing Date for the competition.
  • A copy of Starting Sheets will be sent to all competitors and Clubs.

 

County Championship Conditions

  • No competitor may have taken part in the last 12 months in the Championship for this Category in another County, or have represented another County at golf during that period.
  • Handicap Limit: 7
  • In the event of a tie the Competition will be decided by a play off on the same day as the competition, over such holes as the Competition Committee shall decide.
  • The County Championship is a Gross event
  • No competitor is eligible to receive more than one prize.

 

The winner will receive the Championship Trophy, a Silver Medal and a voucher valued at

£350.00

 

The winner is also invited, at the expense of the Somerset Golf Union, to represent the county at the 'Champion of Champions Tournament' (see Fixtures for details)

 

The runner up will receive a voucher valued at

£250.00

Third place will receive a voucher valued at

£150.00

Fourth place will receive a voucher valued at

£100.00

Fifth place will receive a voucher valued at

£50.00

 

The  Colts Champion (aged 18-22) will receive the J M M Richardson Trophy and a silver medal

The M R Tilke Cup will go to the second best Colts player

 

The Arthur Evans Cup will go to the best Junior player (U18)
