- Will Poole and Jamie Clare both scored holes-in-one during the competition
- We win the Matchplay Shield, having recorded four wins out of four before narrowly succumbing to Cornwall on the final day by the narrowest of margins. Full details on the whole event can be seen if you click here
This was a great week for Team Somerset and the whole County who produced the players who made us all so proud during the week. Superbly led and prepared by Captain Justin Lane and Coach Russell Covey. The groundwork and preparations they put in meant that the Team was in good spirits and ready for the challenge, and they responded magnificently! Support was in plentiful supply from the Executive Committee, past and present, ex team players and club members. We were especially pleased to receive a message of support form our own Laurie Canter, back performing again on the European Tour. Sky Sports reporter John E Morgan also popped down from Portishead to support the team.
Well done boys and good luck for the rest of the season.
