Away Success for Somerset
Somerset Seniors travelled to Filton on Monday for their Channel League match against Gloucestershire. The home side were favourites to win this match and probably the league. Somerset were fielding a strong side and were ready for the morning foursomes. Despite the top game going to the home side, the remaining four pairs managed to gain 3.5 points, Somerset going into lunch with a 2 point lead.
More success came Somerset's way in the singles which ended 6.5 points to 3.5 points in favour of the visitors.
Special mention must go to Stan Whitley who beat Gloucester star Geoff Clay, gaining two points on the day. Richard Streeter also won maximum points.
