GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  

The following General Terms & Conditions apply to all competitions.

  • The current general conditions (Rule 20) relating to Somerset Golf Union Championships and tournaments will apply to all competitions. Copies of these rules are also available at affiliated clubs.
  • Competitors must be of Amateur status as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
  • Competitors must be a member of a golf club affiliated to the Somerset Golf Union, or must have been born in the County and be a member of an affiliated club in another County.
  • Home Club handicap certificates dated within two weeks of the competition will be required for all Competitions.
  • A player shall walk at all times during a stipulated round. Buggies are not permitted unless a player is disabled as defined by the Disability Discrimination Law.
  • For Juniors/Colts events: Caddies are not permitted
  • Details of Entry Fees and Closing Dates for entries can be seen on the Standard Entry Form. Entry Forms must be received by the Competition & Fixtures Administrator on or before the Closing Date for the competition.
  • A copy of Starting Sheets will be sent to all competitors and Clubs.

 

Trounson Trophy Conditions
(see also separate conditions for President's Trophy)

  • Competitors may only represent their nominated Home club (for handicap purposes).
  • Handicap Limit: 18 maximum (ie. competitors on higher handicaps may play but must play off 18)
  • Players must be named before the first player in a team commences play.
  • The three best scores of the team will be aggregated to decide the winning team
  • In the event of a tie the score of the fourth player will be taken into account
  • In the event that there remains a tie after this the Competition Committee shall rule upon the manner of deciding the winners.
  • The Trounson Trophy is a Net Team event.
  • The Windwhistle Challenge Trophy (presented by Leonard Fisher Esq of Windwhistle Golf & Country Club) will be held by the second placed team.

The winners will receive the Trounson Trophy and vouchers valued at

£50.00

The runners up will receive vouchers valued at

£40.00

The third placed team will receive vouchers valued at

£30.00
