Conditions of Play and Qualification

Conditions of play

The current general conditions relating to Somerset Golf Union Championships and tournaments will apply to this competition. .

The Championship shall be decided by Stroke Play over 36 holes over two days, 18 holes being played on Tuesday afternoon and 18 holes on Wednesday morning.

In the event of a tie for the Championship there will be a sudden death play off over holes to be decided by the Championship Committee.

Qualification

To be eligible to enter, a player must be:-

A male member of a golf club affiliated through its County Union to England Golf, The Golf Union of Wales or Scottish Golf

In possession of a competition playing handicap not exceeding 10 under the current CONGU Unified Handicapping System.

Entries

Entries must be made online through the SGU website or an official entry form. These may be downloaded from the website or obtained from the SGU Competitions Secretary the official Entry Form to be obtained from the website or:

Entrants must have attained the age of 55 years on or before the first day of the Championship.

Prizes

The winner of the Championship shall be the West of England Men's Amateur Senior Champion for the year.
