JUNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

SOMERSET JUNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MENDIP JUNIOR VASE

Very pleased inform that this years Somerset County Junior Team Championship will be played on Monday 29th May 2023 in conjunction with the Mendip Junior Vase.

The winning team will have the opportunity to represent club & county at this years English National Finals, to be played August 15th (practice) 16th & 17th August at the EG National Golf Centre Woodhall Spa. This is an opportunity to play a top class Championship Course in a National Event. Somerset have been well represented over the past few years with teams from Saltford,  and Mendip doing extremely well at Woodhall Spa. In 2019 Saltford became National Champions and in 2021 Mendip finished runners up. Trust us when we state without fear of contradiction, the finals are truly magical experience for all involved. The SGU will make a financial contribution of £250.00 to assist with the overall expense of the finals to the winning team.

PLEASE promote this event and support junior golf at club, county, and beyond. Your club can enter more than one team and there is no additional charge for team entries. NOTE, players must be entered in the Mendip Junior Vase to play in the team event. Team entries together with completed entry forms to be submitted on the day at the professional shop before the 1st team member tee’s up.

The eagled eyed amongst you will note a difference in maximum handicap index between the Vase and the Team Championship. The Vase have updated this to align at 36 for both, girls and boys.
