Ellis Cook wins County Championship
Ellis Cook, playing on his home course, had a super two under 69 to win the County Championship after a 73 in the morning round. Favourite at lunch time had been George Morgan of The Mendip with a 69 but he fell away in the afternoon with a 79 and a total of 148. County Captain Phil White, after a disappointing 76 in the morning, had a level 71 to take second place.
The Champion Club was a nail biter with Burnham & Berrow A level with Farrington, last year's winners, on 457. After applying a countback on the second round gross scores the County secretary, Dennis Longden, announced Farrington as the winners.
Somerset Golf Union President, Brian Evans, presented the trophies and prize vouchers to the winners.
Whitcutt wins Seniors Championship for the 4th time
John Whitcutt won the Seniors Championship at Saltford Golf Club for the fourth time on a day when scores were average and the entry was quite small.
Josh Hilleard wins Junior Championship
Josh Hilleard won the Junior Championship by two shots from Will Bennett with Will Warman in third place.
Wigley wins West of England Seniors Open
Michael Wigley of Bude GC won the title from David Niven of Newbury and Crookham GC, a previous winner and Richard Wood of Long Ashton GC
Somerset Boys Success
Somerset Boys had a very successful tournament in Dorset to take the Four Counties Title. Tom Sloman of Taunton & Pickeridge takes individual title.
White wins dramatic playoff to retain County Foursomes title
Phil White, paired with James Popham, retained his County Foursomes in a dramatic four hole playoff. With Josh Martin and Will Markham, both of Vivary Park, sat at the top of the leaderboard it was left to White and Popham, the last pair out on the course, to force a playoff. The championship committee decided on a four hole playoff, up the 1st and down the 10th twice with, if still level, a sudden death finale. Martin and Markham played well with four solid pars but with a birdie on the first of the 10th holes White and Popham won by one shot.

Cook shoots a level 142 to win County Championship

Ellis Cook, with a 2 under 69 in the second round following his 73 in the morning won the County Championship with Phil White, the County Captain in second place. Cook also won the Colts Championship to hold both titles at the same time.
Morgan leads County Championship with a stunning 69

George Morgan from The Mendip leads the County Championship with 69 from Wiil poole of Mendip Spring with a 71 and a further 3 players on 73.
Whitcutt wins Seniors Championship for the 4th time

John Whitcutt won the Seniors Championship at Saltford Golf Club with a gross 77. This year the field was quite small and the scoring was higher than expected.
Cornwall beat Somerset at Worlebury 9-6
13th May 2013
Somerset were leading 3-2 in the foursomes at lunch but could only manage 3 wins in the afternoon singles losing the match by 9-6. A full report will follow.
