Junior Champion Club Conditions

The current general conditions relating to Somerset Golf Union Championships and tournaments will apply to all competitions. Copies of these rules are also available at affiliated clubs.

  • Competitors must be under 18 years of age on 1st of January in the year of the competition.

  • Competitors must be in possession of an Active CONGU handicap

  • Handicap Limit: Boys 24, Girls 36 Please note this years qualifing event will run in conjunction with the Junior County Championship Sunday 26th April at Wells GC. The Junior County Championship has a handicap limit of 18. This limit does not apply to the Junior team Championship which will be played over the first of 2 rounds on the day. Entry in to both Championships will be required BUT those with handicaps above 18 wishing to represent their club in the team event will not be able to enter the Junior Championship on line. Such entries together with the names of team members to be submitted by post to the address below please

  • This competition is a team event consisting of three players, Boys, Girls or combination. 

  • The winning team shall be the club with the highest combined stableford score over 18 holes.

  • The Junior Champion Club is a Stableford event

  • Caddies are not permitted

The winning club is also invited to represent the County at the English Golf Union Junior Champion Club Tournament  (see fixtures for further information)

Somerset Golf Union will contribute towards the cost of the National Finals
