EXPECTED SCORES

“ Expected score is fixed. If they don’t work, they may just need re-saving at this stage”

FOR MULTI AND MIXED TEE EVENTS -

With CR-Par all players are playing to 36 points to play to handicap.

Stableford, Par/Bogey There Are No Adjustment

Medal and matchplay, it is the difference in Pars between Tees

Foursomes and Greensomes - The Par of the card selected is used to calculate the CH of the player’s no matter which tees are being used. Then no adjustment.

The Mixed Tee EG calculator  (opposite)gives all the examples.  This can also be used for single tee events by using the same tee information for all players. Select the format/Number of Tees & handicaps at the bottom of the sheet, the calculator will do the rest.

There is a difference in calculation for match play in Foursomes and 4BBB.

4BBB - 90% difference between the CH of the players with the lowest player playing off 0.  (Not 90% of the player’s Course Handicap to give a Playing Handicap, then the difference, as it is not an individual allowance)

Foursomes - 50% of the difference between the combined Course Handicaps of the pairs. (Not 50% of the pair then then the difference).

Question "

I wonder if you could help my with the numerous queries I’m getting about 4BBB scoring under the new WHS rules.

A lot of players in my club, who play 4BBB, record both their gross scores in a 4BBB competition. Firstly is that ok going forward, and secondly how does that affect the score adjustment for the player whose 9 + holes that are to be considered for handicap purposes if the team score is 42 Stableford points.

For example if player A (9+ holes) records 2 points on a hole and Player B (less than 9 holes) records 3 points, does A received an adjustment of 1.5 or 2 points. Similarly if A records 3 points and B 4 points, does A receive 1.5 or 3 points.

Thirdly, I’d both players record the same score on numerous holes and that takes both of the into the 9+ scores category, will both players be assessed for handicap purposes

Answer:

Players should only be recording the counting score (for the sake of pace of play) but EG have said recording both is not an issue.

Only the counting Stableford scores (not the actual gross hole scores) are sent to WHS along with a flag to indicate which player made that score. If both scored the same number of points, then both are flagged. Non-counting scores,      e.g. 3 points when the partner made 4, are disregarded and do not get sent to WHS.

Yes, it is possible for both players to count on 9 or more holes
