On a lovely warm summers day, the Somerset team received the warmest of welcomes from their hosts at the picturesque Coed Y Mywstwr Golf Club near Bridgend. The course was very well presented and gave both a playing and physical challenge to the golfers where local knowledge would favour those familiar with the layout.

Glamorgan came strongly out in the foursomes. winning the session 4-1, although the score did not accurately reflect the close nature of a couple of the games, Freddie and Josh and Luke & Sam finally had to concede defeat on the 18th. In the final game of the morning, last minute call up Theo Jones combined with brother Noah to win a point for Somerset.

In the singles, Troy battled away for a half after Freddie had lost the opening game to a very strong opponent. Glamorgan put themselves into a winning position in taking the nest three games to take themselves  to the 8.5 points needed to secure the result. Josh, Ryan and Luke won the next three games before Glamorgan took the final two to seal a 10.5-4.5 win.

All of our boys displayed spirit and determination in a match played in the best traditions of good sportsmanship. There were promising debuts for Noah and Jackson
