Somerset bounced back form their defeat against Wiltshire by reocording a decisive win over Devon at Weston-super-Mare.
The morning foursomes went in our favour, and we finished the session leading by 3.5 points to 1.5. Confidence was high as we set out on the afternoon singles matches, and points were quicky added to our tally. Rob Parker worked hard to secure a half in the opening match before Jeremy Larcombe, Sam Fernley and Dan Toogood won their games. Phil White and also secured halves, and these were followed by wins from Matt Turner, Tom Sloman and Will Poole. Devon narrowy took the last match out, Johnny Grace going down on the 18th.
The squad will be in good spirits for South West Week at Bristol & Clifton Golf Club beginning on June 8th. In the meantime, next up are the County Championships at Taunton & Pickeridge on May 17th. This will be last chance to impress the Captain and press claims for selection!
We would like to thank Peter Lowery and all at Weston-super-Mare for their customary support and help. First class as usual!
