Somerset lost their opening match of the Seniors Channel League against Devon at Mendip Spring on Thursday. In the morning four balls, Devon took the honours with 3 points to 2. Stuart Robson with John Whitcutt and Danny Dowell partnered by Paddy Maclennan recording wins for the hone side.

The afternoon singles followed a similar pattern with Devon winning by 6 points to 4, Danny Dowell crowned a fine individual performance in recording a 6 & 5 win. Overall result was Somerset 6 Devon 9. For full match details, please click on the Results tab.

This was not the start that Captain Geoff Ogden was hoping for, but their were some encouraging signs for the rest of the matches.
