The first channel league match for the Uunder 18s was at Weston Golf Club v Gwent.

The course was presented in great condition and the weather was kind with plenty of sunshine and average winds. The team was supported by President Tommy Tulk, Executive Committee Member Brian Evans and Competitions Secretary Richard Dix.

In the morning foursomes there was a good win for debutant,George Worthington from Weston with his partner Ben Josham (Farrington Park). There were good performances from Seb Church (Saltford) and Alex Manley (Cricket St Thomas) who fought back from 5 down to half their match and Kieran Babbage (Saltford) and Will Warman (Bath) who won the last two holes for another half.

After the foursomes the match was close at 3 - 2 in favour of Gwent.

The team fought hard in the afternoon with some good golf on display but a strong Gwent side came out on top 7- 3. Taylor Stote Burnham secured a good half against a Welsh international.

There were two wins for Alex Manley and Ben Josham and a further half from Kieran  Babbage who won the last two holes.

So overall Gwent secured a 10 - 5 victory.
