Wedmore was the venue for the U18s final channel league match v Glamorgan. A win would have given us a good chance of adding the channel league trophy to the Greenaway.

Several of the boys were unavailable with the South of England Boys championship at Yeovil and Sherborne clashing. This gave opportunities for Andrew Blake and Jack Partridge to make their debuts for the U 18s. The pair combined well in the morning foursomes to take the honours 2 and 1.

The highlight of the match came on the 175 yard Par 3 9th. Miles Richardson put his tee shot out of bounds on the left. Glamorgan hit a pin high shot just off the green right of the pin. George Worthington stepped up to the tee , knowing that he needed to get close to stand any chance of a half he proceeded to hole out for a remarkable par. The Glamorgan boys then took three and lost the hole.

The events were witnessed by Vice President Paul Middleton. George and Miles went on to win the game 2 and 1.  Kieran Babbage and Will Warman battled for a half in the top match so honours were even after the morning foursomes.

Despite good performances from Kieran Babbage and Tom Barker, taking their games to the 18th against Welsh internationals they both lost out. That seemed to set the trend and disappointingly Glamorgan took all 10 singles for a thoroughly convincing win.

Despite the loss the U 18s have performed well this season winning 4 out of 6 matches and taking a trophy.
