Somerset Seniors suffered a narrow defeat in the secon match of theie Channel League fixtures. Leading 3-2 after the morning foursomes against Wiltshire at Bowood Golf Club, they lost the afternoon single 6-4 to lose by 8 points to 7.

An early reverse in the opening game say Jamie Ward and Steve Francis was offset by a strong performance by the middle order. Stuart Robson & John Whitcutt, Danny Dowell & Neil Whisler and Tim Harris & Alistair Johnson all won their games to give Somerset an unassialble lead from the mornings play. Wiltshire bounced back with a 1 up win in the last game to send the players into lunch with the match still very much in the balance.

Wiltshire came out strongly in the afternoon to take the opening game to level the match, and fortunes swung both ways before Wiltshire opened up a 2 point lead in the middle of the session. Despite the teams best efforts, Somerset could not close the gap, Wiltshire winning the singles by 6 points to 4 and the match by 8 points to 7.
