We went to Wales, ‘guess what? ‘It rained’. The Team played well in the morning despite Hux’s loose wet grip on his driver, which ended stuck in a tree. To be only 2 down at lunch meant we had a chance of our first win. The sun came out in the afternoon and so did the Team, rearing to put points on the board. Ably lead by their Captain, for the day, Miles, got the first point with a fine win on the last, sticking his tee shot within 6 feet of the pin [or was it 10 foot according to Tom Roach]. All the team were in control of their match throughout the afternoon and it was just a question of time when they would win. Matt Ison fresh from his successful foray into the U.18’s went 4 down early on, was he going to lose his 100% record? What a fighter, with a somewhat suspect swing, he finally got the upper hand and finished up 4&2. Huxley Howell was impressive in his first match for the U.16’s as did Dylan Xanh both winning their matches and clinching our first win. Well done ‘The Team’ now bring on Devon.
