Match Report: It felt as if we were in Wales, again, but no it was Somerset…RAIN. It was a question of the Long Sutton course being able to take a full days play, so it was decided to forgo the morning foursomes and just play the 8 single matches. So at 9.30am we were level on points, 2 each, [our best result from foursomes matches, so far this year!]. The rain fell throughout all the matches but the Team stuck to their task and played good golf. It was great having our inspirational leader, Josh playing again, though he did say something weird, ‘he likes playing in the rain!!!’ Being 3 down at one stage he showed his grit and determination and came down the last all square and could have won but for a lip out on the 18th. Well done Josh. Jordan Vaughan achieved his goal by winning his first match 3&2. Jack Partridge, fresh from his Club Championship win, got us another point. Tom Roach, ‘Mr Steady’ had a decisive win by 6&4. Charlie Camper continues to make a good recovery and was pleased with the way he played, although going down 4&2. Despite continuous rain and a rabbit hole shearing a wheel off  his trolley Matt Ison maintained his 100% record with a 2&1 win. Jake finished the match off with a well fought half giving the Team a WIN by 7 points to 5. Thought of the day – if we only played singles, we would win more matches!! - Note: winter coaching will involve more foursomes training. A great thank-you must go to Long Sutton G.C., Tommy and the greenkeepers for keeping the greens playable and the fine hospitality that we had, in difficult circumstances.

Thank you again.
