Team Somerset went down to another disappointing defeat, this time at the hands of our local rivals Gloucestershire. The fousomes were closely contested in the morning, with Gloucestershire taking the advantage with a 3-2 lead. Ollie Worts and Josh Freeman won the last match out to send us in to lunch in good heart, adding to the earlier victory of Jamie Clare with Sam Fernley.
Jamie continued the feel good factor by winning the opening singles, and Curtis Edwards came close to upsetting the odds but was eventually defeated 2&1 by the in form Nick Day. Gloucestershire opened up a commanding lead with 3 wins on the trot. Somerset looked as though they might stage a comeback with a win from Tom Sloman and a fighting half from Jeremy Larcombe. Our hopes were shortlived as Gloucestershire took the remaining singles to secure a 10½-4½ victory.
