Firstly thanks to Bath Golf Club for their hospitality and flexibility, thanks to Russell and Tommy for their time during the day I am sure the players appreciated it.
The squad were beaten 7.5 - 4.5 by a very strong Gwent Side who featured some of the players who played against the first team at Clevedon recently. That said , it presented some strong challenges for all the players during the foursomes and singles matches of which all acquitted themselves well in the heat of the battle.
The morning foursomes were lost 2.5 -1.5 with a win for Wills and Butterfield and a half from Freeman / Winn
The afternoon produced some very good scoring with Palmer achieving a half with him and his opponent both finishing 4 under gross, a win for Winn beating the leftie who played against the first team, a further half for Bellinger and another point secured by Butterfield with a fine win after being 3 down .
The other lads battled well but those who lost were beaten by the better player on the day.
