The U18s played their channel league match against Wiltshire at Farrington Park. The weather was unkind and persistent rain accompanied the play.

We lost our Captain to illness on the morning of the game and as a result called up 12 year old Alex Marshall from the home club. He played with a smile and showed great determination. He was a credit to the club and county. Alex partnered Josh, Higgs (Wells)  in the morning foursomes and after 9 holes the pair were 2 up having played some  good golf. A close match between Jack Partridge (Worlebury) and Owen Thresher (Minehead) was narrowly lost on the 17th.

Somerset failed to register any points in the morning and faced a tough taskin the afternoon singles against a strong Wiltshire  side who are reigning English junior  county champions.

Josh Higgs fought well to half his match and Matt Ison (Enmore Park) secured our only full point of the day.

The boys battled well but were soundly beaten by a very strong team.

My thanks to Jon Cowgill and his team for looking after us so well on a miserable day and to SGU President Tommy Tulk for his support. Special thanks and congratulations to Alex Marshall for performing well on his U18s debut. I'm sure we will be hearing more of him in the future.
