Match Report: The heavy rain held off till the end of the match, much to our relief. Lewis Osman looked like death so couldn’t play. As it happens Gloucestershire had the same situation so it made the match 9 aside.
At lunch the match was evenly balanced. Tommie Holyday, playing a singles match, found himself 4 down but came back to win on the last. A further 1 ½  points were gained by the final 2 pairing on the last. The afternoon singles saw the first 3 matches going down with a popular score of 3&2. Jake Bovington started the Somerset comeback with a good win,3&1. The tailend charlies were motoring and it soon looked like a possible winning match. Liam was solid winning 3&2, Alix Kew, fresh off a plane at 1am that morning, showed no jet lag and won with a convincing 5&4. While we were waiting for Alex Bendall to come round the corner to the 15th up trots Alfie Jubb, fresh from his exploit in Las Vegas, grinning like a Cheshire cat, from the 12th hole, claiming his outlandish win of 8&6. Alex eventually appeared winning the 15th and his match by 4&3. All in all a very good performance by all the lads, they deserved the win. Roll on next Tuesday when they play Gwent at Wells.
