Match Report: Wells G.C. were our hosts for the day, the course, food and the weather was glorious.
The morning foursomes went very well, again, very good course management and team work gave us a lunchtime lead.
The afternoon singles carried on in the same vein. On a few occasions this year our top 3 players have suffered defeats but today they got us off towards a good victory with 3 straight wins. The pick of the bunch was Huxley’s 8&6 win followed by good wins by Tommie Holyday and Louis Archer. The middle order had mixed results but helped us keep our nose in front. Alix Kew & Alfie Jubb, as always, brought in the ‘coup de gras’ with 2 fine wins.
The Team Spirit is tremendous, all of them pulling for each other and again the lads deserved this win. Thanks goes to Tommy Tulk, Phil White, James Lambdon [the teams sports psychologist] and their performance coach, Jack Heginbotham for all their support and guidance, making my job very easy.
Tony Brown.
