After the narrowest of defeats a fortnight ago Somerset travelled to The Rolls of Monmouth to take on hosts Gwent on Sunday.
Somerset took the upper hand early in the day and were strong in the foursomes, winning all matches in the morning session to lead 5-0 at lunch. There was with a notable comeback from Jason Brock and Jeremy Larcombe who were 3 down in the early stages early but came through to win 4/2.
After a sluggish start after lunch, the leading players Phil White and Johnny Grace were behind in the early stages but both turned their games around with a win and a half respectively to lead the county home. Will Poole played some superb golf in defeating the Gwent Player 8 & 6. Wins also from Sam Fernley, Jack Palmer and Curtis Edwards as Somerset ran out comfortable winners by 10.5 points to 4.5 points.
Team Somerset are now looking forward to an exciting week coming up soon at Weston-super-Mare at South West Week.
Thank you to President Paul Middleton & Chairman Tommy Tulk for their support on the day, it was much appreciated.
