Somerset suffered a 9-6 defeat at the hands of Gloucestershire in the 3rd fixture of their Channel League programme at Ross-on-Wye.

Our established pairings of the Two Toms (Pumb & Sloman) together with Sam Fernley & Phil White gave Somerset their two points from the morning. However, defeats for Jack Palmer & Ali Balcombe and Will Poole and Sam Sloman meant that the morning rounds would be decided in the final game. The foursomes finally went in Gloucestershire's favour when Craig Adams & Tom Trowbridge went down to the evergreen Nick Day and Alex Ireland.

Gloucestershire maintained the momentum in the first of the singles before Tom Plumb and Ali Balcombe levelled the scores in games 2 and 3. The Gloucestershire middle order took the match away from us with four consecutive wins to reach 8 points and secure the win, Phil White and Craig Adams added further points for Somerset, with the last word going to Gloucestershire in the final game.
