Somerset's home match against Cornwall was disrupted on Sunday as a grassland fire swept across the course during the afternoon, forcing the course to be evacuated whilst the emergency services dealt with the blaze.
Fortunately, there was no-one was injured and the fire did not reach any buildings, and the course was open as usual today.
Oh - the match! Cornwall won the morning foursomes in a close encounter, and in accordance with Channel League rules, all of the singles were declared as halved. Not an ideal way to end but, in the great scheme of things, not really important! Let's hope the course recovers quickly when we get some rain and the grass can begin to grow back.
