Team Somerset had to come from behind to secure a win in the the final match of the distinguished and successful reign of Justin Lane's captaincy. The team travelled to Pennard to take on Glamorgan in the Channel League, unable to overhaul Cornwall who had recorded 4½ match points. Despite this, there was a strong sense of desire amongst the players to send the skipper off in style.

Somerset got off to the best possible start with a resounding win from Taylor Stote and Jeremy Larcome as they took the opening game by an emphatic margin, followed by a half point from Phil White and Will Poole. Glamorgan came fighting back and took the next two games convincingly, and a final half in game 5 saw the home team go to lunch with a 3-2 advantage.

After the break, Team Somerset won the thre opening games with Taylor Stote, Jeremy Larcombe and Johnny Grace winning their points in style. Phil White came out second best in game 4, as did Justin Lane in game 6. Will Poole kept the Red Army momentum going with a hard earned point in game 5, winning 1 up, Taylor Lloyd overpowered his opponent in game 7 to take Somerset within 1 point of victory, Jason Brock narrowly lost game 8 before kobe Adams and Alex Winn closed out the match for Somerset by winning the last two games

The final placings in the Channel League have yet to be decided. Gloucestershire can overhaul Cornwall if they win their final match against Gwent.
