Tom Sloman is the new South Western Counties Golf Association Strokeplay Champion

The day was set fair for good scoring at Cumberwell Park, and Tom played consistently to record consecutive rounds of 65. He ended the morning tied with George Bryant from Devon, with a number of players ready to take advantage of any drop in form. Mitch Waite pulled to within 1 shot, deprived by a birdie 3 on the 18 as Tom maintained his hold on the competition.

Tom had to endure a long wait before being crowned champion, as the final group contained Andy Hales from Gloucestershire who was only a shot behind after the morning round. They delayed their arrival onto the final green to keep the suspense going and whilst he scored a impressive total of 69 in the afternoon, but Tom stayed out of reach of the field to secure the title.
